Aluminium sector continuing to grow, says MD

The aluminium industry continues to grow and there are increasing opportunities for installers in this sector.
This is the view of Jerry Webb, Managing Director of CDW Systems - an aluminium specialist that recently supplied windows and doors for the multi-million pound construction of apartments on the island of Guernsey.
CDW Systems worked with Guernsey Glass & Window Co Ltd on a new high end residential development called One St Julians, which has both local and open market apartments.
The new apartment block was built on the site of a former brewery and incorporates underground parking. The fenestration works consisted of curtain walling, dual colour SAPA dual-frame windows; and commercial and residential aluminium entrance doors.
Many of the windows were curved and dual colour marine grey and white.
The project is now complete, with some of the apartments on the market for multi million pound figures.
Jerry says that CDW Systems have never been busier –with the project the latest in a long line incorporating aluminium products - and that the sector represents lucrative opportunities for installers.
He comments: “A lot has been said about the aluminium sector and what the future holds for it. Certainly for the foreseeable future things looks very good. We’ve never been busier and we are seeing more demand for aluminium windows and doors, domestically and commercially.
“There seems to be more velocity in the private sector now as well, with more projects such as this one being pushed through. It says a lot about our products that they were chosen for this project. There are clearly opportunities for installers and we have the support and products to them make the most of these.”
