Buoyant aluminium sector inspires record-month at CDW

Despite talk of a ‘zombie’ economy and sluggish growth, a Gloucester based specialist aluminium manufacturer is celebrating a record-month of sales.
CDW Systems posted record trading figures for this February gone – with turnover reaching £600k during this period alone.
Spurred on by a buoyant aluminium sector the fabricator is experiencing demand right across its product range.
CDW Systems’ Managing Director Jerry Webb comments: “It was certainly a champagne moment when we saw the final sales figures for February. We were working around the clock and the whole team here did a fantastic job to ensure turnaround times were met and the highest quality products were supplied.”
Jerry says that in-line patio doors, sliding folding doors; bi-folds and vertical sliders were particularly strong sellers to the trade; whilst there was also a spike in demand for commercial aluminium doors and curtain walling.
Against an economy that is shrouded in negativity nationally; Jerry believes aluminium represents a significant pocket of growth: “Aluminium is experiencing a commercial and domestic renaissance. We’re noticing more and more installers switching to aluminium windows and doors due to growing consumer demand.
“Due to the fact that we’ve been in business for over 20 years and are recognised aluminium experts – we’re undoubtedly benefitting from this. Aluminium requires a completely different mind-set to mass producing PVC-u frames so installers are looking for experienced suppliers who they can work together with to take on lucrative aluminium jobs.”
CDW Systems have been in business for twenty-one years and manufacture and supply a wide range of windows, doors, shop fronts and curtain walling using some of the leading aluminium profile systems on the market today including Smarts and SAPA.
The specialist aluminium fabricator marked its 21st birthday with the launch of the EasySecure door, which is an evolution of one of their best-selling products, the Sapa Stormframe Easyway door.
