Leading specialist aluminium fabricator CDW Systems has announced its new team of Directors, as it looks to continue the sustained growth it has achieved over the past months and years.
CDW Systems has appointed Mike Davis as Operations Director, Martin Rowe as Sales Office Director, Richard Smith as Technical Director, Angela Phillips as Finance Director and Alan Little as Production Director; bringing together a senior team with over 116 years’ industry experience between them.
All the new appointments have worked at CDW Systems previously, and have a firm knowledge and understanding of the business and products.
Mike Davis has ten years’ service to his name at the company and first entered the industry in 1980; and has worked for extrusion, systems and fabrication companies.
He took a six year sabbatical during this period to work at Cheltenham Town Football Club as First Team Assistant Manager throughout their rise from non-league into The Football League.
Angela Phillips has been at CDW for three years and previously spent 10 years working for another company in the industry.
On the production side Alan Little joined the specialist aluminium manufacturer ten years ago; and has spent a total of 23 years in the aluminium sector – working in fabrication.
Richard Smith is in this thirteenth year at CDW and first started working in the glazing industry in 1984, before starting in the aluminium sector in 1987.
Martin also brings considerable experience to the role, having been working in the aluminium sector for 23 years in total.
Martin Rowe comments: “We will continue to support existing customers but we are also keen to bring on board new customers who are looking for an experienced aluminium supplier to help them take advantage of this market.”
CDW has made significant investments over the past year to improve efficiency across the business, including investments in manufacturing, products and staff.
Mike Davis comments: “Major investment has gone into the factory to make CDW a ‘lean manufacturing’ business as we scale up operations, including vertical racking instead of horizontal to allow for more storage space. We’ve also built a mezzanine in the factory, which will serve as a café space for employees to use.”
Richard Smith comments: “CDW has always been at the forefront of innovation in the aluminium market. Alongside offering a complete range of products, we work closely with our suppliers to design and launch a new product to the market every year to help our customers.”
Alan Little comments: “As well as the re-structure of the factory, we’ve introduced a second shift, which has increased production to 16 hours a day to meet increased demand and bring lead times down even as we get busier.”
CDW has experienced particularly strong growth in the last few years.
Managing Director Jerry Webb is confident the new team of Directors will help continue this success over the next few years.
He comments: “I’m delighted we have the most experienced team in the aluminium sector to help navigate CDW through periods of growth.”
CDW Systems manufactures a range of aluminium products including windows, doors, curtain walling and shop fronts, supplying these for domestic and commercial projects across the UK.
