25,000 sq ft dedicated bi-fold factory opens its doors

A new 25,000 sq ft factory has opened its doors and is one of the biggest dedicated bi-folding doors operations in the UK.
The opening of the new factory represents a major milestone for family run TWR Bifolds and re-affirms its commitment to be the number one aluminium bi-fold supplier in the industry.
The factory has been fitted out with state of the art machinery required for the production of aluminium bi-folds.
The site in Peterlee, County Durham, is in addition to TWR’s long-standing headquarters and original factory in Sunderland.
It is a major investment for TWR that has significantly increased its manufacturing capacity.
Managing Director, Terry Richardson comments: “Demand for aluminium bi-folds has skyrocketed – particularly in the domestic market – and shows no signs of slowing down. We have seen a year on year increase of orders and we felt the time was right to kick our manufacturing up a gear.
“The investment shows we are serious about growth and our customer’s growth and we can now manufacture and supply increased volumes of quality aluminium bi-folds on an incredibly fast lead time.”
Earlier this year TWR Bifolds launched its new premium fast-track service that allows installers to achieve a three working day turnaround on aluminium bi-fold doors – subject to conditions.
The new launch means that Terry Richardson and his team are able to offer RAL coloured aluminium bi-folds, on a three-day lead time; subject to an order form being completed by the installer and a deposit paid.
It is being dubbed the fastest bi-fold turnaround the industry has seen and TWR Bifolds are the only suppliers in the industry to offer the service.
For its new premium service TWR Bifolds can offer a three-day lead time on any standard RAL colour and a six-day lead time on any standard RAL dual-colour bi-folding door.
TWR also recently expanded its range with the addition of Synseal’s WarmCore system.
WarmCore is an innovative aluminium folding sliding door system, which incorporates a radically different product design approach to deliver a new high performance glazing solution.
