BSi recognition for fast-growing Fenster Fabrications

Torquay’s Fenster Fabrications has achieved the highly respected BSi BS 4873/PAS24 accreditation. Trading for eleven years, the firm is one of the South West’s foremost aluminium suppliers, offering the full range of Smarts windows and doors to trade customers throughout the South West region.
BSi recognition adds another valuable selling point to a product range that’s already among the most extensive in the region. First trademarked in 1903, the BSi kitemark proves a product has been rigorously and independently tested for safety, quality and reliability.
“For recognition among consumers and the trade, few standards can match BSi,” commented Fenster Fabrications Managing Director Tony Drake. “We wanted BSi accreditation to ensure that no matter who uses our services, whether they be trade clients, commercial developers or end users, they can have complete confidence in Fenster and the products we provide – and we’re absolutely delighted to have been approved.
This is just a start, though. We’re constantly striving to improve - and our next goal is to join the Secured by Design initiative, thereby offering potential customers even greater assurance that when they buy from Fenster, they’re getting the highest quality aluminium windows and doors.”
Managed by the Association of Chief Police Officers and now mandatory for public buildings and social housing, Secured by Design consists of a number of standards designed to encourage businesses to build crime prevention measures into their products.
Long respected for its uncompromising commitment to quality and outstanding design, Fenster has been used on a number of occasions to test new products by systems company Smarts. In addition to offering the full range of products from Smarts, the company also manufactures Üni_Slide, an ultra-slim aluminium sliding door, equally suited to commercial and residential applications.
Üni_Slide can achieve frame sightlines as slim as 20mm, and a slim central interlock, while being able to support sliding panels of up to 3m high and 2.2m wide. The product can be assembled in a limitless run of units, with each panel capable of holding up to 320kg of glass.
