7.5 is the magic number

A 29 year old managing director of a prominent Bristol business recently set out his blueprint for success in front of 52 staff at the firm’s annual conference.
Brady George joined Almeda, a total facilities management company, at the age of 23, working his way up the business before recently taking over the baton of managing director from his father Gary George, who founded the business.
Almeda has steadily grown over the last eight years, with a current turnover just shy of £6m, and counts @Bristol, Arnolfini, Bristol & Bath Science Park, SS Great Britain and many more as clients.
The firm is currently winning two new clients a week and 2015 has seen a flurry of new contract wins in the manufacturing sector.
On the company’s future, Brady told staff: “It has been a successful year for Almeda. Our projected year end turnover is £6 million and the end goal is to increase this to £7.5 million by next year.
“To achieve this we plan to significantly expand the business and into profitable new sectors; but we want to do this in a sustainable way – and by building a company that has people, planet and profits as its focus. The more successful we are the more change for the better we can make.
“I am proud to have such a strong and passionate team behind me and will be vital to ensuring we meet our growth targets; and social obligations.”
As part of this new strategy, Brady has implemented a number of changes including a restructuring and strengthening of Almeda’s management team.
A £50,000 training budget has also been set aside to deliver world class training through Cranfield University’s Management Development Centre for all senior members of staff.
Brady’s refreshing approach to management – and rapid rise in the South West business community – recently resulted in recognition at a prestigious business awards, where he wowed the judges with his passion and determination.
Brady comments: “To be named Rising Star against such a tough field was a huge honour. It was important to me for dad to be there as he is a huge inspiration to me. I wish to continue his success and build a legacy we can all be proud of.”
