One of the UK’s largest fabricators, Wellingborough based Astraseal, has significantly increased its manufacturing capabilities with a £3m investment.
Over the past 18 months Astraseal have invested in a new Tamglas toughening plant, a Stuga machining centre, a five headed welder, a bead saw, an aluminium saw, and a crimper. Astraseal has also expanded its logistical division, adding an additional 12 ton and 18 ton lorry to its fleet of 80 vehicles.
Mark McMullan, managing director of Astraseal comments: “The investment increases our capacity to over 4,000 frames per week and is part of a strategic move to put more resources into our trade supply division. We’ve been experiencing increasing demand from the trade and scaling up the business means we can continue to fulfil large commercial contracts and provide installers with the kind of quality and service they have come to expect from Astraseal. We welcome any installers who would like a factory tour to see the new machinery in action and to discuss how Astraseal can help their business grow.”
Astraseal operates from three manufacturing sites, totalling 110,000 square feet, and fabricates a comprehensive product range including the REHAU S706 system in chamfered, semi sculptured and fully sculptured profiles; the REHAU Geneo system; REHAU bi-folding doors, vertical sliders, fully reversible windows, curtain walling and composite doors set in a REHAU outer frame.
As well as manufacturing all sealed units in-house, Astraseal also offers Smarts and Reynaers aluminium windows, doors, curtain walling, bi-folding doors and shop fronts; along with Global conservatory roofs, Synseal inline sliders and vertical sliders.
Sales and marketing manager Zachary Nedimovic explains what the new investments mean for the future of Astraseal: “Following our increased manufacturing and delivery capacity, we plan to add new products to our range in the near future such as a flush sash system and Synseal’s WarmCore folding sliding door. These are two high-value, innovative products and installers can use them to keep up with industry trends and win profitable business. We are also in the process of revamping our installer marketing support package which will give our customers a major advantage over the competition.”
