Export sales up at Cotswold Architectural Products
Posted on 14/02/2017
International hardware manufacturer Cotswold Architectural Products saw its export sales opportunities continue to increase during 2016 and this looks set to continue during 2017.
Cotswold – which is part of the Caldwell Group – has seen high demand for its high-performance friction stays and restrictor arms for commercial projects, including its Extreme range of hinges that are precision engineered to accommodate heavier windows such as triple glazed units.
Luz Seminario, Export Sales Manager, says international demand has not subsided since ‘Brexit’ and if anything, the pound sterling dip has encouraged companies outside of the UK to enquire.
Luz says: “Anybody who exports took a deep breath following Brexit, as any uncertainty can cause market fluctuations but we’ve actually grown exports during this period. The combination of our reputation for service, quality products and a weaker pound is yielding strong results.”
Cotswold exports its products to more than 50 countries worldwide including USA, Chile, South Korea, Malaysia and India; as well as supplying products to the UK trade.
The manufacturer has supplied products for many high-profile projects such as Beijing Airport, where a large quantity of Cotswold’s HD26/180 friction stays were specified for use in the windows in the terminal building.
Cotswold’s HD26/180 hinges – along with HD102 – friction arms were used again in a major mixed development in Istanbul, Turkey.
Metropol Istanbul combines one of the largest shopping malls in Turkey, home offices, educational institutions, a recreational area and residences where international superstar Jennifer Lopez has bought a home.
Luz comments: “It’s exciting to be working on all these projects around the world and over the years we have built up an impressive portfolio of projects where our stays and hardware have been specified based on superior quality and strength.
“We can also deliver bespoke solutions to meet even the most demanding requirements and it is for these reasons that we are a number one choice for architects and specifiers of overseas projects.”
Cotswold is part of the Caldwell Group, a world leader in the design and manufacture of bespoke hardware.
Caldwell offers a wide range of innovative solutions for the domestic and commercial markets and recently pioneered automated hardware in the UK following strong demand and success of these products in the USA.
