The Queen’s Award-winning window restrictor specialists Jackloc® are celebrating further international success after securing approval by the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council in the United Arab Emirates for another year.
“It’s an incredibly proud moment for Jackloc to be certified by the Quality and Conformity Council for another year,” comments Jackloc Founder and Director, Emma Wells. “Behind Europe, the Middle East is one of our largest markets, so approval from its leading council on quality and standards is an important endorsement. With the nature of the UAE and their high-rise residential buildings, effective window restrictors are absolutely vital and it’s great to see the council once again place its trust in Jackloc.”
Following the deaths of many children and adults as a result of falls from high rise buildings across the country, the Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs in Abu Dhabi, issued a resolution, aimed at protecting children from falling from windows and balconies in residential buildings in the Emirates.
Ragunda Sankaran, Director of Fourstars Building Materials LLC commented: “After researching window safety products which could help prevent these tragic, needless deaths, I discovered Jackloc. It is an established, well-respected company producing an excellent product – tried, tested and trusted – which is just what I was looking for.”
Along with use in a residential setting, Jackloc’s full range of universal restrictors can be found in office developments, sheltered and university accommodation as well as leading hotel chains across the world. Jackloc is also widely used in the healthcare sector with 300 of their restrictors safeguarding patients at the seven-star Burjeel Hospital, the largest private hospital in Abu Dhabi.
“Jackloc is truly a global brand with a strong global presence safeguarding thousands of lives every day,” adds Judith Burrows, fellow Jackloc Director and sister to Emma. “It’s easy to see why, our entire range is designed, engineered and manufactured in the Midlands and carries the powerful ‘Made in Britain’ moniker. Not forgetting of course our Jackloc MK2 key-lockable restrictor winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation 2017. We’re not here just to fill a gap in the market, from day one our mission statement has always been to improve safety on a global scale by dramatically reducing the risk of falls from windows.”
