Fresh from securing approval from the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, Queen’s Award-winning restrictor specialists Jackloc® have been specified for a luxury hotel under construction on The Palm in Dubai.
The Leicestershire-firm are supplying 400 of their Queen’s Award-winning MK2 key-lockable restrictors for the upcoming W Hotel. Due to open in March 2018, the W Hotel will feature over 350 rooms including 58 suites with views across the Arabian Gulf and the Dubai skyline.
“It’s fantastic to see Jackloc specified for yet another building in the United Arab Emirates and another luxury hotel,” comments Emma Wells, Jackloc’s Founder and Director. “The W Hotel will be a stand-out feature on the iconic Palm and we’re proud to play our part in ensuring guest safety through our industry-leading range of universal window restrictors.”
The W Hotel will join a long-list of residential and commercial buildings in the UAE and across the Middle East, which feature Jackloc restrictors. Along with many of their iconic, high-rise apartment buildings, Jackloc can be found safeguarding lives at Abu Dhabi’s largest private hospital as well as the five-star Sheraton Hotel in Dohuk, Iraq.
Designed, engineered and manufactured in the Midlands to exacting BS EN Standards, the Jackloc range encompasses a full collection of restrictors designed to dramatically reduce the risk of falls from windows. In addition to the MK2 key-lockable restrictor, the range also includes push and turn, swivel/stud and key-lockable folding models.
“With a tested and proven product range, made in Britain, it’s not hard to see why Jackloc is setting the standard for window safety in markets outside of the UK,” adds Judith Burrows, fellow Jackloc Director and sister to Emma. “Specifying Jackloc provides huge peace of mind and a great assurance no matter the application, whether it is in the leisure industry or in healthcare, sheltered accommodation, care services or even by homeowners protecting their families.”
“We’re delighted that W Hotel and its owners Marriott International are joining with other leading global organisations in seeing the importance of improving window safety, and supporting us in our mission to drastically reduce the risk of injuries and fatalities caused by falls from windows.”
