Leading PVCu and aluminium window and door manufacturer Shelforce has been nominated for the Excellence in Manufacturing award at the 2023 Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Awards.

Shelforce impressed the judges with its work with Local Authorities around replacement fire doors and the increase in demand for its fully compliant Fireshel 30-minure fire, smoke, and security resistant door.

Judges also highlighted the investments Shelforce has made off the back of its success to help business growth in the future, including an upgrade to its software system to improve efficiency, new machinery for its Erdington-based factory to provide extra manufacturing capacity and an increase to its number of full-time staff.

Organisers said they received a fantastic number of high calibre applications which proved a very difficult task for judges to come with a shortlist of candidates and Howard Trotter, Shelforce’s Business Manager, said: “It’s fantastic to be shortlisted once again at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Awards.

“Our 2021 success winning the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year helped give us the belief and confidence to continuously improve.”

As well as winning Business of the Year in 2021, Shelforce also scooped the Excellence for People Development award in the same year.

The winners will be announced at the Annual Dinner and Awards on Thursday, March 16 at the ICC, Birmingham.
